Surveys

Nanaimo Airport is seeking funding through the BC Air Access Program (BCAAP), a provincial cost sharing program that supports airport infrastructure improvements across British Columbia. The proposed (1) Mobile Equipment Shelter and (2) South Apron Paving projects would improve airside safety, protect essential equipment, and support reliable airport operations.

We invite airport users, local businesses, and community members to share their feedback on these projects. Your responses will help us understand their potential benefits, identify concerns, and inform our funding applications and project planning. The survey will run from November 1st to November 21st, 2026.

  1. Mobile Equipment Shelter – The proposed building would provide secure, weather protected storage for critical airside mobile equipment. This would improve equipment reliability and employee safety by protecting critical equipment from adverse weather and providing a sheltered area for inspections and maintenance.
  1. South Apron Paving – This project would pave the existing aircraft parking apron to improve safety and security on the main apron. There is currently congestion and aircraft interaction concerns and separating these activities would improve airside safety.
